Ben Lively Signs Minor League Deal with Chicago White Sox
Former Cleveland Guardians Pitcher Joins Sox Organization
Lively to Pitch for Triple-A Charlotte Knights
Right-handed pitcher Ben Lively has signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox, the team announced Tuesday. Lively, 31, will report to the Triple-A Charlotte Knights.
Lively spent the 2023 season with the Cleveland Guardians, making nine starts and 21 relief appearances. He went 3-6 with a 5.83 ERA in 71 innings pitched. Lively has also pitched for the Philadelphia Phillies, Kansas City Royals, and Baltimore Orioles during his seven-year MLB career.
The White Sox are hoping that Lively can provide depth to their starting rotation and bullpen. Lively has experience starting and relieving, so he could be used in a variety of roles out of the Sox's bullpen.
Lively is a valuable addition to the White Sox organization. He is a veteran pitcher with a track record of success in the Major Leagues. He should be able to help the White Sox compete for a playoff spot in 2023.
